CBD is extremely popular and there is a wide choice when it comes to CBD products. Perhaps you have seen it before, but are not yet familiar with it.

You may have already experienced the power of CBD, but there is still some uncertainty about its use. There are more and more providers on the internet, but often little explanation about the use of CBD.

In this blog article, we will go deeper into this. We will take you on the journey of CBD.

What is CBD?

CBD is a substance from the cannabis plant and is an abbreviation for cannabidiol. Besides CBD, many other cannabinoids are found in the cannabis plant. When making CBD products, often all substances are still present.

This is called Full Spectrum CBD and is the most well-known CBD there is. The cannabinoids enhance each other's effects, resulting in the “entourage effect.”

In recent years, CBD has been increasingly used for various complaints. These can be chronic pain complaints, or stress or insomnia.

More and more scientific research is being done on CBD. There are increasingly more proven benefits of CBD.

How is CBD oil made?

CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant. Without the cannabis plant, it is not possible to make CBD.

The plants are usually grown in large quantities and are only used to make CBD. So you cannot compare this to the cannabis plant, which is used for other purposes.

The planted seeds grow into a mature plant. When the plant contains enough active substances, such as CBD, it is time to extract the CBD from the plant. This is done through a specific extraction method.

The most popular and widely used method is CO2 extraction.

How is CBD made

When the CBD is extracted from the plant, it is a paste-like substance. To make oil from this, hemp seed oil or MCT oil is often added.

The more oil is added, the lighter the percentage of CBD in the oil.

The lightest form we offer is CBD oil 5%. The strongest form is CBD oil 30%. Stronger than this is not possible because the viscosity is too high. Depending on the complaint, you choose the percentage.

What is the difference between MCT oil and hemp seed oil?

The two types of base oils used at ProHemp are MCT oil and hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is often used to make CBD oil. The oil is cheaper than MCT oil and has a strong herbal taste. MCT oil has a mild herbal taste.

MCT, which stands for medium-chain triglycerides, is a carrier oil. MCT can help with digestion, weight loss, and metabolism.

The most chosen reason for MCT oil is its mild herbal taste.

What CBD products are there?

There are many different CBD products. The most popular CBD product is CBD oil. The advantage of this is that you can choose different percentages of CBD. This way, you can select the right percentage for each complaint.

As CBD becomes increasingly popular, more and more CBD products are appearing. There is a lot written online about the power of CBD. You can find the following CBD products at ProHemp:

  • CBD oil
  • CBD capsules
  • CBD supplements
  • CBD edibles
  • CBD beauty
  • CBD cream
  • CBD for animals
  • CBD massage oil
  • CBD + vitamins
  • CBD Whey protein

CBD products are no longer used only for complaints. They are also used preventively or during sports. CBD can have a positive effect on muscle growth and muscle recovery.

There are also CBD products for face creams or lip balm, which are especially popular due to their anti-inflammatory effects. You can even consume CBD in a sweet way through CBD edibles. Think of CBD gummies

When do you use CBD oil?

To use CBD oil, it is important to first set a goal for yourself. What do you want to use it for? And for which complaint? This way, you can use CBD for the following complaints:

CBD oil 5% can be used for children or for very mild complaints such as:

  • Restlessness
  • Stress
  • Insomnia
  • Concentration problems
  • ADD / ADHD (children)
  • Autism

CBD oil 5% can be used by adults for mild complaints such as:

  • Restlessness
  • Stress
  • Insomnia
  • Concentration problems
  • Mild mental complaints
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Recovery from sports injuries
  • Muscle recovery
  • Preventive use
  • Epilepsy

CBD oil 10% can be used for mild to severe complaints such as:

CBD oil 30%

  • We never recommend this at the beginning. It is used by customers or users who are familiar with CBD. In this case, you have already been using CBD oil for a while and are using a high dosage of 20% CBD. You can then choose to go for 30% CBD oil or 40% CBD oil. You will then use fewer drops.

The strongest CBD oil is a 30% CBD oil. At ProHemp we also have special CBD oil that can work for issues such as sleep problems. For this, you could choose a CBD oil + melatonin.

When do you use CBD capsules?

CBD capsules are convenient to use when you don’t like the taste of CBD oil. A big advantage of CBD capsules is that you always get the right dosage.

With CBD oil, it is possible to take too many drops and thus consume unnecessary CBD oil. This will not have a negative effect, but CBD oil is very expensive.

With CBD capsules, you know exactly how many capsules you can take per day to get the right dosage of CBD.

Besides the standard CBD capsules, there are also Vegan CBD capsules.

The different CBD percentages

There are many different types of CBD percentages. Above, we have read when you can use a certain percentage for which complaint.

The percentages start at 2.5% and the highest percentage is 40%. Of course, you don’t want to take too many drops, so it is often convenient to switch to a different percentage.

If you use 10% CBD oil and you need 6 drops three times a day, you can also switch to 20% CBD oil. The percentage and strength are twice as much.

To get the same amount of CBD, you need half the number of drops in this case. Therefore, you can choose to switch to a higher percentage with fewer drops.

6 drops of 10% CBD oil is equivalent to 3 drops of 20% CBD oil or 1 drop of 40% CBD oil. This way, you can benefit from the CBD with fewer drops per day.

What are the best times to take CBD?

The number of drops depends on the complaint and what you want to use it for. Above, we have described the complaints with the percentage and the number of drops. But when is the best time to take the drops? And how do you take them?

We recommend taking the CBD oil three times a day. The best time to take CBD is 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal.

You can do this before breakfast, before lunch, and before dinner. Depending on your symptoms, you choose the number of drops. When taking the drops, follow these steps:

  • You take three drops three times a day.
    • Take the drops 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal.
  • Drop the CBD oil under your tongue.
    • You can do this by counting the number of drops in a mirror.
  • Let the CBD oil sit for 90 to 120 seconds.
  • Rinse the oil away with water after 120 seconds.
  • Increase the number of drops by 1 drop per dose every three days.

When you start with CBD, it is important to take the CBD oil consistently and to increase the dosage gradually. CBD has an average buildup phase of 8-12 weeks.

Why does CBD need a buildup phase?

Every body has an endocannabinoid system. This natural system is often out of balance. By using CBD, the endocannabinoid system can be restored to balance, and symptoms can decrease or disappear.

It is often thought that CBD is a miracle cure and that its effects are immediately noticeable. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Your body needs to get used to CBD, and the endocannabinoid system needs to absorb the CBD.

CBD needs a buildup phase of eight to twelve weeks before it starts working properly. That is why you gradually increase the number of drops in the first weeks.

Often, after 1 to 3 weeks, you will start to feel a calm sensation in your body. You experience less stress and sleep better. After 2 to 6 weeks, the first symptoms may decrease, and often after 8 to 12 weeks, you really feel the difference.

We therefore recommend keeping a notebook handy. Write down your symptoms, which CBD oil you use, and how many drops you have taken.

Also write down how you feel that day and whether symptoms improve or disappear. This way, you can easily find the right percentage of CBD for yourself.

You can increase or decrease the percentage after 12 weeks to see what the suitable percentage is for you. CBD works differently on every body. This depends on your weight, diet, health, and age.
