Do you have no energy? Are you uninspired? Feeling a bit down? Or just not feeling good in your own skin? It's time to put an end to that. With a few small adjustments in your life, you can start laughing again, gain more energy, and feel good in your own skin. In this blog article, we give you 5 tips to quickly feel like a different person again.

1. Make a plan and create structure…

The time we live in is extremely hectic. Most people have a full-time job, children, a house that needs to be clean and tidy, and social contacts that need to be maintained. When you think about how much we have to do in a day, it’s logical that so many people are stressed and overwhelmed. We live in a 24-hour economy where everything has to be fast, faster, fastest. Because of this, we forget the important things and things become unstructured—both physically and mentally.

Make a plan

Make a plan. Write a list of what you need to do that day. You can simply use a notebook for this, but there are also many helpful programs where you can create a schedule. Try to estimate how long each task will take. Allow yourself some startup and wrap-up time. For example, if you have chores in the morning, write down what you need to do and how long it will take.

Eat the frog

Maybe you’ve never heard of this, but it will help you. Eat the frog means: do first the task or chore you really dread. This could be calling a difficult client or a task that takes longer. How do you usually do it? You probably start with all the small tasks to quickly get a lot done. While you’re busy with those, the big or unpleasant task keeps lingering in your mind. You can concentrate less, which makes you stressed and annoyed. So make sure to get that “burden” off your shoulders as soon as possible.

A tidy environment is a tidy mind

Keep your environment tidy. This can be at home, your desk, or your office. Take some time for this at the end of the day. A tidy workspace or home creates calm. You can concentrate better and work more effectively.

2. Become an outdoor person and enjoy nature…

Go outside more often. The fresh air can give you a lot of energy. You can take a walk during your break, go for a stroll in your neighborhood in the evening, or ride your bike. Do you have a forest nearby? Go for a walk there. Try to enjoy it in every case. Leave your phone at home or inside and make sure you have some time for yourself or for each other. If you have a garden or balcony, sit outside for a while. Close your eyes and try to breathe in the fresh air. If you do this for 10 minutes, you’ll feel like a different person.

3. Make sure to get enough exercise…

Most people have jobs where they sit at the office all day. Once you get home in the evening, you flop down on the couch and have no energy left. Exercise is important and provides an energy boost. Have you always been active but less so now? Start exercising again. Get up an hour earlier to go for a run or work out. Not a morning person? Then make sure to exercise for an hour in the evening. Not a fan of intense sports or never exercised? You can also go for a walk or bike ride. Make sure to move at least half an hour a day. You’ll see that you become more energetic. After exercising or moving, you always feel a bit better, even if you didn’t feel like it beforehand.

And back to the non-morning people. You probably always find it hard to get up, whether it’s 7 or 9 o’clock. Try getting up an hour earlier and start your day calmly. Take a nice shower, have a relaxed breakfast, and try not to rush in the morning. You’ll be much sharper the rest of the day.

4. Eat healthy and drink enough…

This sounds easier than it actually is, but proper nutrition is so important. Our advice is to eat three times a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try to have one substantial meal, for example your lunch. You can have a light breakfast, a hearty lunch, and a light dinner. In between, you can snack healthily. Try to drink water throughout the day. Eat a varied diet. There are many tools that can help you with this. For example, apps on your phone that track how many calories you’ve consumed. If you have little or no inspiration to eat varied meals, there are companies that deliver meals. Think of Hello Fresh. You can choose your meals in advance from the options they offer.

5. Make sure to get additional vitamins

Try to get as many vitamins as possible from your food. If you follow the tips above, you’ll already get a lot of vitamins.
