What is the difference between CBD Full Spectrum, Pure CBD, and CBD THC-free?
CBD is becoming increasingly popular. Positive stories can be found all over the internet, and more and more people are experiencing the power of CBD. This leads to more CBD providers and more CBD products.
We also see many different types of CBD such as Full Spectrum CBD, Pure CBD, and THC-free CBD. But what are the differences between these types of CBD?
In the next blog article, we will delve deeper into the question: What is the difference between CBD Full Spectrum, Pure CBD, and THC-free CBD?
What is CBD?
CBD, which stands for cannabidiol, is a substance from the cannabis plant. CBD oil is often compared to cannabis oil but is not the same. Cannabis oil contains a large amount of THC, while CBD oil often contains no or only a small percentage of THC.
The cannabis plant used to make CBD products is only cultivated for making CBD products. It is not possible to make cannabis oil or other cannabis products from it.
Besides CBD, there are other cannabinoids and terpenes in the cannabis plant. Think of CBN, CBC, CBG, and many others. If CBD is made and not filtered, the CBD product contains all cannabinoids.
Then it is a Full Spectrum CBD. The CBD also contains a small amount of THC. This is never more than 0.05%. Besides Full Spectrum CBD, there is also pure CBD, which consists of only CBD, and THC-free CBD. THC-free CBD oil contains no THC but does contain CBD and all other cannabinoids.
In Full Spectrum CBD, the cannabinoids enhance each other's effects, creating the ‘entourage effect.’

What different types of CBD are there?
When we talk about CBD oil, we usually mean Full Spectrum CBD oil. This CBD oil is the easiest to produce. CBD comes from the cannabis plant.
The plant is cultivated for making CBD products. CBD oil is often compared to cannabis oil.
Although these are two brothers, the two brothers do not share one thing. CBD oil naturally contains little THC. This makes CBD oil legal in the Netherlands. Cannabis oil contains a lot of THC, which makes the oil illegal in the Netherlands.
Besides Full Spectrum CBD oil, there is also pure CBD oil and THC-free CBD oil. But what exactly are the differences between these CBD oils?
What is CBD Full Spectrum?
CBD Full Spectrum is the most well-known CBD oil. Most providers who offer CBD oil sell Full Spectrum CBD oil.
Another name for this oil is raw CBD oil. In other words, raw CBD oil. The oil is not heated during the extraction process, which preserves all flavonoids, cannabinoids, terpenes, phenols, CBG, CBN, and CBC in the oil.
The cannabinoids enhance each other's effects, creating the “entourage effect.” CBG, CBN, and CBC enhance the power of CBD. This is why CBD Full Spectrum oil is the most popular form of CBD.

These cannabinoids contain a small amount of THC. This is never more than 0.05%. If a product in the Netherlands contains more than 0.05% THC, the product is no longer legal.
In cannabis oil, which is not comparable to CBD oil, there is a lot of THC. This is why cannabis oil is illegal in the Netherlands and cannot be sold.
What is Pure CBD?
The name says it all, Pure CBD. Pure CBD is the purest form of CBD oil and is often used for specific purposes.
If you only want to experience the power of CBD, you choose Pure CBD. Another name for Pure CBD is CBD Isolate. Isolate, which means to isolate, already indicates what happens to the CBD.
The CBD is isolated from the other cannabinoids. During the extraction process, the CBD oil is heated, causing the other cannabinoids and terpenes to heat up and disappear.
What remains is 99%+ pure CBD. In this case, the THC also disappears from the CBD oil.
Although there is a negligible amount left in a Full Spectrum CBD oil, some CBD users prefer that no traces of THC are present in the CBD oil.

With Pure CBD, all cannabinoids, terpenes, waxes, oils, chlorophyll, and more are removed from the paste. This process is very time-consuming. This is why Pure CBD oil is somewhat more expensive than CBD Full Spectrum.
What is CBD THC-free?
The name says it all. CBD THC-free, also known as CBD broad spectrum. In a CBD oil THC-free, the THC is removed from the oil.
The advantage of THC-free CBD is that all cannabinoids from the cannabis plant are still present in the oil. To remove traces of THC, producers must perform extra processing during production.
The CBD THC-free is used by CBD users who want to experience the power of CBD and the other cannabinoids but are often sensitive to THC.

Just like with a Full spectrum oil, all cannabinoids and terpenes remain present in the CBD oil that is THC-free. The cannabinoids enhance each other's effect, resulting in the “entourage effect.” THC-free CBD oil is widely used among athletes, children, and the elderly.
The difference between CBD oil and cannabis oil
Cannabis oil is often compared to CBD oil. The market is becoming increasingly popular, but at ProHemp we still often get the question whether it is possible to get cannabis oil.
Not because people are looking for cannabis oil, but because it is often thought that cannabis oil and CBD oil are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. Although they are like two brothers, the two oils come from different plants.
Cannabis oil comes from the cannabis plant and CBD oil from the hemp plant. The cannabis plant used to make CBD oil is only cultivated for making CBD oil.
The cannabis plant contains little THC. THC is the substance that can give you a high feeling. The feeling you get when you smoke a joint or use cannabis oil, for example.
With CBD oil, it is not possible to take too much or to overdose. This is possible with cannabis oil.
We wrote an article about the difference between CBD oil and cannabis oil.
The different percentages of CBD oil
CBD is available in different percentages. From 5% CBD oil to 30% CBD oil. But when do you choose which percentage? This often depends on the severity of the complaint and what you want to use it for.
The 2.5% CBD oil is a light oil and is often used for children or for preventive use. For preventive use, the 5% CBD oil Full Spectrum is often used, while for children the 5% CBD oil THC-free is often used. This is because the THC-free oil contains no THC.
Depending on the complaint, you choose the CBD oil suitable for you. We have previously written a blog about which CBD oil suits which complaint.
CBD oil 5% can be used for children or for very mild complaints such as:
- Restlessness
- Stress
- Insomnia
- Concentration problems
- ADD / ADHD (children)
- Autism
CBD oil 5% can be used by adults for mild complaints such as:
- Restlessness
- Stress
- Insomnia
- Concentration problems
- Mild mental complaints
- Anxiety disorders
- Recovery from sports injuries
- Muscle recovery
- Preventive use
- Epilepsy
CBD oil 10% can be used for mild to severe complaints such as:
- Pain complaints
- Severe headache or migraine
- COPD / Asthma
- Rheumatism (mild form)
- More severe mental complaints
- ADD / ADHD (adults)
- Depression
- Anxiety disorders
- Severe menstrual complaints
- Diabetes
- Parkinson's
- Osteoporosis
- Anorexia / bulimia
- Stomach and intestinal complaints
CBD oil 20% can be used for severe complaints such as:
- Chronic pain complaints
- Chronic back pain
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatism (severe form)
- Severe lung complaints
- (Severe) depression
- Severe anxiety disorder
- Alzheimer's
We never advise at the beginning. This is used by customers or users who are familiar with CBD. In this case, you have already been using CBD oil for a while and are using a high dosage of 20% CBD. You can then choose to go for 30% CBD oil or 30% CBD oil. You will then use fewer drops.
The strongest CBD oil is a 30% CBD oil. At ProHemp, we also have special CBD oil that can help with, for example, sleep problems. For this, you could choose a CBD oil + melatonin.
CBD naturally has a herbal taste. The taste can be more or less herbal depending on the brand. NatureCan’s CBD oil is made with MCT oil.
This results in a 'light herbal' taste. The CBD oil from Cannabas and Hempcare has a 'strong herbal taste'. If you prefer a light herbal taste, always choose NatureCan.
For the best use, drop the CBD drops under your tongue and hold them there for 90 to 120 seconds. Then rinse it down with water. Sometimes people cannot tolerate the herbal taste.
We have an ideal solution for this.
If you don’t like the herbal taste, you can choose the CBD capsules. They are not only tasteless but also always provide the correct dosage.
