CBD and sports. A good combination or not?

There are many dedicated athletes who swear by the use of CBD. How can you combine sports and CBD? Is it a golden idea and which ‘famous’ athletes use CBD? In the following blog article, you will read everything about the combination of CBD and sports.

In which sports is CBD used?

Every year, GOLF.com conducts an anonymous survey. Recently, a study was published in which 52 professional golfers were questioned about the use of CBD products.

Research shows that one in five golfers used cannabis or a CBD product in the past year. The 52 respondents estimated that 30% of the top 125 golfers use CBD products. Bubba Watson, a pro golfer, openly talks about using CBD oil. In several interviews, he explains why he uses CBD oil and how it stimulates and keeps him sharp.

The well-known MMA fighter Nate Diaz gained fame after defeating world champion Conor McGregor. Nate Diaz has been using CBD oil for years when preparing for a fight. Diaz uses CBD not only for preparation but also says he uses CBD products for his body’s recovery after a fight. Recently, the Diaz Brothers started their own CBD and Sport MMACBD company. The Diaz brothers know the product and its effects well. Nate’s above-average performance is partly thanks to the use of CBD.

Often, athletes admit to using CBD after a season or period of using CBD products and experiencing the positive effects. In recent years, the use of CBD has grown enormously among (professional) athletes.

CBD - From cardio to strength training

Whether you are an avid athlete or exercise once a week, the combination of CBD and sports is a good idea for every athlete. Runners know the small aches and injuries, and a bodybuilder uses full strength. Muscles become overloaded and need to recover after an intense workout. Besides physical sports, there are also mental and concentration sports. CBD can also play a big role here. The benefits of using CBD for athletes can include;

  • Muscle recovery (muscle pain)
  • Concentration
  • Breathing
  • Stress regulation
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Blood flow
  • Recovery after injury

In strength sports, quick recovery is essential. Fitness is becoming increasingly popular, especially among young people. Cardio is becoming more popular among older adults. Everyone is aware of the importance of exercising.

Which CBD products do you use for which sport?

At ProHemp  we offer various CBD products. The best-selling among athletes is our CBD oil. CBD oil is easy and quick to use. You drop the oil under your tongue. Daily use ensures your body gets used to the CBD oil. Many top athletes who use CBD oil see themselves breaking record after record. They are focused, sharp, and have more strength. Your muscle groups can recover faster. Faster recovery means faster training. This way, you get in top shape and surpass yourself. CBD oil can have a great influence on this. After sports, CBD massage oil is often used. Besides a relaxing feeling, it has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The CBD works directly on the muscle that needs attention through the skin. If you have a calf injury, you massage your calf for 10 minutes. Then you let the oil absorb well for optimal results.

Sports and CBD oil

In sports, CBD oil is being used more and more frequently. CBD oil can help you stay focused, perform better, and recover your muscles faster. At ProHemp we offer several types of CBD oil. But which CBD product do you use for which complaint? CBD oil is used for severe as well as mild complaints. If you want to use it to support muscle recovery and during sports, we recommend a 5% CBD oil. If you have never used CBD before, it is important to consider the build-up phase. You take one drop three times a day, half an hour before or after eating. After three days, you increase the dosage by one drop. The build-up phase lasts eight to twelve weeks. Your body needs to get used to CBD. Give your body time to adjust. CBD oil is different from cannabis oil. The big difference is that our CBD oil contains less than 0.05% THC. A negligible amount, also called “Non-Detectable.” THC causes a ‘high’ feeling, something you want to avoid during sports. You do not get this from CBD oil because CBD has no psychoactive effect. You cannot overdose and are allowed to participate in traffic.

Sports and CBD massage oil

CBD massage oil can be used for muscle recovery or pain relief. Besides the relaxing effect, CBD massage oil can also have a healing effect. Many physiotherapists already use CBD massage oil. It is also widely used in the football world. After a match, the legs are rubbed with CBD massage oil and the muscle is massaged. You massage the muscle for ten minutes. Then you let the oil absorb calmly and do its work.

Is CBD oil on the doping list?

In January 2018, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) removed CBD from the doping list. Since then, the organization has been flooded with great and positive reactions from the sports world. From all branches of sports, athletes responded that they would use CBD in their training and competition programs. The number of CBD users among athletes has only increased since then. At ProHemp, we have seen a huge growth in the number of athletes using CBD in recent months. Besides CBD oil, many CBD massage oils are sold to athletes.
